Is iPhone SE 2020 still a good buy? Is it worth buying the iPhone SE 2020 in 2021? Let's find out...

Are you an iPhone fan? Are you used to the way iOS works? Yet you don't want to burn a hole in your pockets? You are probably thinking of buying the iPhone SE 2020. Let's find out if it is worth buying the iPhone SE 2020 in 2021.

Apple started rolling out almost bezel-less phones since 2017. Since then they have rolled out numerous iPhones where the Touch ID and the home screen was replaced by the more convenient Face ID. However it had been a long time since Apple launched a phone with a Touch ID. And there was the release of iPhone SE 2020. In this post pandemic world, masks have become an integral part of the daily life. And masks prove to be an obstacle when it comes to using the Face ID. So the Touch ID in iPhone SE 2020 could be a blessing in disguise. However, you could easily mistaken it for a pre 2017 iPhone owing to its huge bezels. But unlike the previous generation iPhones, where the back panel was made of aluminium, at least the back panel of the iPhone SE 2020 was made of glass facilitating wireless charging.

The iPhone SE 2020 packs the powerful A13 bionic chip like the iPhone 11. But the battery in iPhone SE 2020 is not very decent. Unless you are a moderate user, you would probably find it dead by the end of the day on a single charge. However, the iPhone XR priced at $100 more has significantly better batteries.

Even the camera sensors in iPhone SE 2020 are the same as the iPhone 11. So you can expect pretty decent photographs with this phone. But if you want consistent good photos, this phone might not be the smartest choice. The absence of a wide angle sensor supplemented by the absence of night mode makes it a not very obvious choice when it comes to photography.

Also if you feel that ignoring all other aspects, only the size of the iPhone SE 2020 compels you to buy the phone, then you could probably consider buying the iPhone 12 mini that is a much better option.

So the final verdict is that if you are spending $399 for iPhone SE, then you could maybe spend a bit more and get yourself the iPhone XR until and unless you are a big fan of the iconic home button and the Touch ID.
