Pixel 6 implementing custom SoC?

The upcoming pixel phones that are scheduled to be released this year have reportedly ditched the Qualcomm chip and instead collaborated with Samsung to use custom silicon, internally known as GS101 "Whitechapel". It is highly probable that the architecture of the SoC could be similar to that of Samsung Exynos processors.

This move from Google could lead to a longer battery life of the pixel phones as the hardware, software and the SoC could be better calibrated as per the needs. Not only this, but we could see the SoC being used in the chromebooks as well. We had seen that Apple had for long used in house chips in iPhones and iPads. But the last year saw Apple use their in house chip M1 for the Macbooks as well. This sort of move could be expected in case of Google as well.

Please let us know what you think about the custom google SoC in the comments below.
